Responsibilities
The Senior IT Business Analyst is responsible for deeply understanding the foundations business processes and challenges with a focus on soliciting the information needs our teams have in making the most important decisions. The Senior IT Business Analyst engages with our customers to formulate requirements from the early stages of a request, partnering with sponsors and stakeholders to articulate scope and solutions options at the initial phases of intake and progressing requirements to functional and non-functional requirements for technology solutions. Business Analysis:
  • Will analyze and assess business problems and processes by applying conceptual knowledge and discretion. Will also provide consultation and make recommendations to business owners regarding the same.
  • Responsible for the creation of strategic direction of each initiative by facilitating requirements review and approval with business owners, project team and management.
  • Responsible for eliciting requirements using a variety of activities and tools from business case to functional requirements.
  • Work with business and technical leads on the creation of as-is and to-be process flows and requirement specifications.-
  • Evaluate solution options, work with the customer community and technology teams to provide recommendations and estimate solution option size (cost/time/resources).
  • Facilitate diverse stakeholder groups in the development of joint requirements and solution options, including analysis using industry tools, methods and best practices.
  • Manage/lead trade-off analysis, development of decision making criteria and facilitation of decision process.
  • Select and/or develop the approach to achieve all analyst deliverables and achieve stakeholder alignment.
  • May lead or assist in the creation of annual strategic plans and development of multi-year technology roadmaps and provide relevant expertise to help guide content, in partnership with business and technical team members.
  • May oversee, review, coach and advise the work of other business analysts and contingent workforce. Provides knowledge, guidance and recommendations to assist analysts in their daily activities and expertise development within the BA discipline within and/or across teams.
Solution Design:
  • Will work with technical teams to develop process and technical solutions that support stakeholders' goals & objectives; organize/lead prototype reviews, demos & user acceptance reviews.
  • Work with technical leads on the creation of design documents and artifacts.
  • Ensure the solution and integrations are built and configured to requirements and design specification.
  • Coordinate the development of the user review plan and facilitate UAT.
  • Apply deep domain and industry expertise to help guide solution option analysis, working closely with technical teams.
  • Research, assess, and recommend improvements to business processes, organization, and rules that can increase the advantages gained from technical and non-technical solutions based on assessment of business operations and technical systems.Change Management –Will provide assistance by consulting on and/or creating content for change management communications, training and education; and participating or leading portions of training sessions.
  • Project/Program Support - May drive the project management of smaller projects using standard project management skills.
  • Relationship Building – Develop deep understanding of the customer, their work environment and strategic goals. Identify their business challenges and provide thought partnership to define solution options. Manage the workflow and process change documents. Build and maintain positive, constructive partnering relationships with key stakeholder groups, including senior leaders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Business Analysis (including business process analysis, roadmap development, requirement elicitation techniques, e.g. JAD sessions, interviews, focus groups, workshop facilitation) with a focus on Business Intelligence efforts
  • Strong expertise delivering business intelligence solutions with a solid understanding of BI concepts, including deep understanding of Kimball methodology and experience working with, and developing requirements for, dimensional models and multi-dimensional datasets
  • Proven experience developing requirements and designs for analytical tools and reports
  • Strong subject matter knowledge within specific functional domains, for example experience with corporate performance management/budgeting/forecasting efforts
  • Strong facilitator in large, cross-functional groups
  • Strong analytic and problem solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Exhibits organizational savvy, business savvy, executive presence, thought partnership and ability to influence
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and manage time
  • Ability to advocate for appropriate stakeholders and/or business objectives across both functional and technical domains to ensure fully vetted, well-reasoned decision making taking into account multiple points of view and the ability to arbitrate and objectively evaluate competing requests across the enterprise
  • Able to adjust work-style and communication to match team or audience, especially when working with non-technical resources
